Wayne Edmondson

Wayne Edmondson has been carving for 20 years. He fist started carving as an understudy of Nevin Weller. With a few years of carving under his belt, he decided to enter a carving competition and ended up sharing Best of Show honors, a pretty good showing for his first time out. He has gone on to win many blue ribbons as well as a number of Best of Show ribbons. He won his first ribbons at the Ward Foundation World Championships in 1989, and has continued to win awards in open class at the “Worlds”. His work has been featured in the Wildfowl Carving Competition Magazine, as well as in newspapers and television broadcasts.
Before settling on the coast of Maine in 1987, Wayne exhibited in the “regional Invitational Exhibition” at the Westmorland Museum of Art in 1984 and 1985, as well as many Wildlife and Carving shows. Once settled in Maine, Wayne has continued to be involved with carving full-time and has served as president of the Maine Wood Carvers Association from 1996 to 1998.
