Tom Christie

Tom Christie started carving in 1986, and since that time has won numerous awards and become one of the most prominent names in gunning decoy carving. His accolades include being the only two-time winner in the World Shootin’ Rig category, and the only three-time winner of the IWCA Hunting Decoy Championship. He has won more that 40 best of shows in competitions across the country. Tom’s inspiration comes from a love of waterfowl and the traditions of hunting with decoys. He sees a live bird or photograph that captures his attention and it triggers an idea for a new composition. “It’s that instant spark of interest, inspiration and excitement that carries me through the entire project.”
